Thomas Marvin KING is a Belgian-English artist who lives in Brussels.

All in All, the current works attempt to synthetize everything to very basic statement: all is ‘trace’ in ‘context’. One is the other, one cannot ‘be’ without the other. The marvelous mechanism behind this is the natural ability for humans to integrate information using all senses and to use this to adapt the behavioral response to it with ‘pattern recognition’. This is the ‘origin’.

The common and usual goal of a work of art is to reach towards something inside the observer, to access his personal unconscious and through this the collective unconscious we all share as projections of past-present-future moments in space-time, memories, emotions, beliefs… to get feedback.

These ‘cellular’ works are simply symbols of these human mechanisms; they are ‘triggers’. Repetitive and deliberate characteristics (some visible and some hidden) are used to build patterns that represent this process while being processed themselves, but as for any ‘living organism’: always processing and evolving towards something else...
