Frédérick Mouraux Gallery is honored to announce the acquisition by GUERLAIN of new works by Sophie Blanc, specifically conceived for the Guerlain Permanent Collection.
Frédérick Mouraux Gallery is pleased to present the works by Sophie Blanc acquired by Guerlain, which are exhibited at the Guerlain Spa at the Cheval Blanc hotel in Saint-Tropez, where they are on display alongside five other pieces as part of the opening season.
Mémoire d’ailes is composed of agrostis grass and 69 poppies gilded with gold leaf, a reference to the 69 bees that adorn Guerlain’s legendary “Flacon aux Abeilles,” created in 1853 for Empress Eugénie. An iconic symbol of the House, the bee embodies heritage, transmission, and harmony between humanity and nature.
More monumental in scale, D’or et de lumière unfolds a poetic forest of golden eragrostis. Inspired by the movement of tall grasses in the wind, the work invites viewers into a contemplative immersion where light reveals the delicacy and strength of life.
